Buying a folding bike is confusing. With so many brands, models, specs, and price points, it's easy to get lost in the noise — or worse, end up with a bike that doesn't fit your life.

birdy.bike cuts through that. We publish detailed, honest reviews and side-by-side comparisons of the folding bikes that matter: Birdy, Brompton, Dahon, Bike Friday, and Tern. Every guide is researched from real owner communities, manufacturer documentation, and hands-on testing.

How We Review

Every bike we cover goes through a consistent evaluation framework: we test on the same routes, measure real weight (not just manufacturer claims), and fold/unfold each bike multiple times to assess the mechanism. For brands or models we haven't personally tested, we're transparent about it and base our analysis on aggregated owner feedback from forums, owner groups, and verified reviews.

We believe in telling you what a bike is not good for — not just what it's good at. The right bike for someone else may be the wrong one for you, and we want you to make an informed decision.
